Transport and Handling
- During transportation, products should be placed on a clean, flat, and dry supporting surface.
- The products should be firmly fastened to avoid sliding and bending.
- When handling and moving the goods, exercise caution to protect the edges and the packing.
Storage
- Products should always be stored flat, in a dry place, free from drafts,on intermediate bearers and clear of the ground.
- All pallets should remain covered to prevent the top product from absorbing moisture on the face, otherwise, the top product will bend.
Installation
- Before installation, it is important that the panels are stabilized in the environment in which they will serve.
- Provision should be made for proper ventilation of the reverse side to prevent condensation.
- Depending on the context of application, it may be necessary to leave a gap to allow for expansion between each panel or at the perimeter of the construction.
- Regardless of the usage class, products should never be in direct contact with water or soil.
- After cutting, it is essential to seal the edges with a waterproof material and apply a protective undercoat on both sides.
- Provision for an expansion gap of 2 mm per meter between panels is essential.
- The design of components should eliminate potential areas of water accumulation and proper ventilation should be assured.
Machining
- It is recommended to carry out all cutting, machining, and pre-painting operations in the workshop.
- When processing with a band saw, it is acceptable to use carbide-tipped blades.
- For high-quality cutting, the reverse side of the panel should face the saw bench.
- The saw bench should be equipped with a knife scorer and a board splitter.
- Best cutting results are obtained when sawing is performed along the wood grain.
Mounting
- Panels can be fixed by means of nails, screws, staples, or glue.
- In case of nailing and screwing, ensure that fixings are not left protruding.
Finishing and Maintenance
- Before applying any type of finish, it is recommended to test the product on a sample piece to verify the compatibility between the finishing substance and the panel itself.
- When panels are used in exterior conditions, it is vital – regardless of the declared class - that they are installed in accordance with our usage guidelines and are protected with finish.
- Protection and finishing of the faces, reverse sides, and edge sealing, along with maintenance at regular intervals, are essential to ensuring the longevity of the wood.
- In case no protection or maintenance is applied, the wood will alter, and this cannot be considered a defect.
- Over the years, it is possible that a change in the wood’s appearance may occur even if protected. This is a natural phenomenon and does not constitute a defect of the product.
